Vizsolyi announces retirement, Clouston named head coach

VICTORIA – One of the longest-tenured coaches in the country and a pivotal figure in British Columbia's swimming history, Peter Vizsolyi, is retiring after 41 years leading the University of Victoria's swim program.

Following a nationwide search, Ryan Clouston, who has spent the last 14 seasons as the assistant coach alongside Vizsolyi, has been appointed the program's new head coach.

Our VIKES varisty team is participating in the 1st annual Vikes Giving Day taking place on February 1st, 2023. Our varisty coaches and swimmers strive for high performance competition and training. Supporting the VIKES team allows them to travel to National and International Competitions, paving their path to excellence.

VIKES swimmer William to represent Canada at 'Best Fest' in Spain

Vikes athlete William Risk headed off to Mallorca, Spain today for an international Open Water competition called the 'Best Fest' - one of 25 athletes representing Canada. Will qualified for the team as part of Team Ontario, his home province. His qualifications came from his 1500m freestyle result at World Trials in April 2022. He will be racing the 5km race on May 29th, the 1.5km swim on May 31st, and the 10km swim on June 2nd. Risk also has the potential to be a part of the 4x500m relay event on June 3rd.

Fast Early Season Swimming from UVPCS at Bennett Cup

A small but mighty group of PCS swimmers raced the Bennett Cup last weekend in preparation for both the Canada West University Championships next week and the PCS Xmas Cracker December 7-9th. The start of season emphasis on kick fitness and skills showed promising early results.

2019 Vikes Summer Swim Camps

Our Vikes swim camp introduces children to the arena of competitive swimming. Our experienced coaches will lead the campers in stroke improvement, swim games, swim fitness, dry land skills and provide an opportunity feedback from under/over water video. Participants must be able to swim 50 meters or be at a Lightning Fast 3/Red Cross Level 6 or higher.  Classes are co-ed for children ages 8-12.

VICTORIA, B.C. - After day two of the 2013 Canada West Swimming Championships hosted by the University of Victoria Vikes, both men's and women's teams sit in fourth place with the Vikes men tallying 475.5 points and the UVic women earning 224. Several Vikes pulled CIS qualifying times and will be competing in the CIS Swimming Championships in Calgary, Feb. 21-23.

VICTORIA, B.C. - At the end of day one of the 2013 Canada West Swimming Championships, hosted by the University of Victoria Vikes, the UVic men are sitting in second place with a points score of 172 after a stellar 1500-m freestyle performance by Alec Page (Cortes Island, BC), Eric Hedlin (San Diego, CA) and Will Brothers (Victoria, BC) as they earned first, second and third place.
