The last day in Moses Lake was more heat and sun, but the swimmers were more prepared for it and swam with more confidence.
The girls' 10u Freestyle Relay finished 4th, and we also had top 8 finishes from Lauren Crisp, Victoria von Sacken Nash, Remei Van Raamsdonk, and Jan Fankhauser.
Moses Lake is true to it`s regular summer weather with highs today in the mid 90`s. Tomorrow is supposed to be approximately the same.
The 11 swimmers we have competing are doing well with some of the highlights coming from Lauren Crisp, 2nd in the 50 Backstroke with the bright sun high in the sky so an extra good effort was required to finish with reasonable times and not bump into the lane ropes on the backstroke races.
The night started off with the 100 butterfly. Our first swimmer of the night was Lauren McMillan with a time of 1:09.09 and a 4th place finish. The second swimmer was Rosie Moulton. Her time was 1:07.38 finishing 4th. Rachel Newman was also 4th in her 100 fly 1:05.41. Ryan Howe was next breaking through the curse of 4th place finishes with a bronze medal in a time of 1:01.71.
Lauren McMillan was 4th in the 200 Fly in 2:36.44 with a good swim for her. Rachel Newman was 3rd in 2:22.41 for her first Long Course National time for 200 Fly.
In the 50 Free, Anna Letkeman made her first AAA final when there was a scratch and went better than the morning swim coming in 8th with a 32.55. Annie MacIntosh was 6th in 30.22 in the 13 yr olds 50 free. Katelyn Hayward added to her collection of 4th`s in the 50 free in a time of 28.90.
Here is an update from Coach Mark for the first night of AAA`s:
