Day 2 at this year’s Vancouver Island Regional Championships saw more impressive swimming from PCS swimmers in all age groups. To start the day off, PCS won the mixed 8 swimmer 400 Freestyle Club Relay event! This was followed by numerous other memorable performances including new club, meet and regional records, finalists and event wins. Here are some of the day’s highlights:

Stephanie Dixon was recently named a finalist for the 2010 Sport BC 45th Annual Athlete of the Year Awards in the Athlete with a Disability category. Other finalists in the category are Braedon Dolfo (Langley, BC) for Athletics/Track & Field and Lauren Woolstencroft (North Vancouver, BC) for Para-Alpine Skiing. Congratulations Stephanie!
The winners will be announced on February 24, 2011 at the Sport BC Awards Dinner. Tickets are available through Sport BC.
Pacific Coast Swimming Saturday lessons has new exciting program options for 2011 at UVic pool!
Option #1 The same morning lessons you have been used to at the same times on Saturday mornings! Let Iza know you are interested in sticking with your regular time slot. You will register through the club for these and pay $45 per month. Private & semi-private lessons are also available.
Lauren McMillan, Ryan Howe and Rosie Moulton along with Coach Rod Barratt will travel south the Portland Oregon as part of Swim BC's Age Group Provincial team. The swimmers will be part of the 32 swimmer contingent that will contest the All Star Quad meet(Jan 08-09) between BC. Pacific North West Swimming, Pacific Swimming (northern California) and Southern California Swimming.
Team is selected off of the top swims done by BC swimmers between October and December.
