Coaches Misha Young & Klaudia Laszlo qualify for 70.3 World Championships

Victoria's annual 70.3 triathlon took place on May 28th consisting of a 1.9km swim through Elk Lake, a 90km bike and finishing with a 21.1km run. Two of our PCS coaches, Misha Young and Klaudia Laszlo both completed the half-Iron Man in good standings, both securing a spot at 70.3 World Championships. World Champs will be taking place in Lahti, Finland in late August.

5 new club records at Wavemaker 2023

Pacific Coast Swimming hosted our Annual Wavemaker swim meet over this past weekend. From best times to qualifying standards to club records, PCS rocked another weekend of racing! Our first club records of the weekend were broken on Friday at finals for 10&under swimmers Ada C. and Owen S. Ada smashed the previous 10&under club record in the 1500m freestlye by nearly 2 minutes with a time of 21:10.40. The previous record stood from 2003. Owen S. also showed an impressive swim, setting a new 10&u boys record in the 800m freestyle with a time of 11:37.18.

UVPCS goes 1-2 in the 5km Open Water Trials!

UVic-Pacific Coast Swimming (UVPCS) swimmers Eric Hedlin and Jon McKay made an impressive showing at the 2023 Canadian Open Water Trials, held recently in the picturesque Cayman Islands. Hedlin, who had already earned Silver in the 10km on Saturday, took the first spot in the men's 5km race Sunday morning, while McKay finished in second place to take the top two podium spots for UVPCS.

Eric Hedlin claims 2nd at Canadian Open Water Trials, qualifies for Worlds

Uvic-Pacific Coast Swimming's open water team traveled to the Cayman Islands this week for the Canadian Open Water Swimming trials. Swimmers Eric Hedlin, Jon McKay, Elijah Agostineli, and Chantel Jeffrey took a trip arond the globe alongside coaches Ryan Clouston and Ian Mattock to compete in a 5km and 10km open water race.
