Victoria's annual 70.3 triathlon took place on May 28th consisting of a 1.9km swim through Elk Lake, a 90km bike and finishing with a 21.1km run. Two of our PCS coaches, Misha Young and Klaudia Laszlo both completed the half-Iron Man in good standings, both securing a spot at 70.3 World Championships. World Champs will be taking place in Lahti, Finland in late August.
Coach Misha completed his first half Iron Man last year. "I never realized how far I've come until I look back" Misha says, taking 33 minutes off his finish time from the previous year. Coach Misha secured a spot in the mens 18-24 category with a time of 4:43.58. The 2023 Victoria 70.3 was Klaudia's 3rd half Iron Man, where she dropped 19 seconds off her time from last year. "I started triathlons in grade 6 and qualifying for Worlds is a dream come true" Klaudia stated. Coach Klaudia secured her spot in worlds in the women's 40-44 category with a time of 5:11.47.
