5 new club records at Wavemaker 2023

Pacific Coast Swimming hosted our Annual Wavemaker swim meet over this past weekend. From best times to qualifying standards to club records, PCS rocked another weekend of racing! Our first club records of the weekend were broken on Friday at finals for 10&under swimmers Ada C. and Owen S. Ada smashed the previous 10&under club record in the 1500m freestlye by nearly 2 minutes with a time of 21:10.40. The previous record stood from 2003. Owen S. also showed an impressive swim, setting a new 10&u boys record in the 800m freestyle with a time of 11:37.18. Our boys 10&under relay record broke the 4x50m freestyle relay which was previously held in 2013. Owen S., Derek F., Arnav GC., and Oscar R. came out with an impressive 2:22.69 on the 200m relay. Saturday evening Ada came in for a 2nd 10&under club record in the 400m IM with a time of 6:12.32. To wrap up the competition, the boys 10&under relay smashed the 4x100m medley club record by over 15 seconds for an overall time of 6:06.73 (Derek F., Oscar R., Owen S., Arnav GC).

Congratulations to a great weekend of racing and a big thank-you to all the volunteers who made the meet possible.
