It was a long weekend in Nanaimo but well worth it for PCS! Numerous new qualifiers at AGN and AAA/AA levels. As well we had a bunch of VIR and Club Records broken. Congratulations to all!

Join Us on July 27 for the HtO Thetis Lake Swim for MS and MSABC’s Open Water Swimming Provincial Championships.
Sponsored by HtO, this year marks the 22nd year of the HtO Thetis Lake swim for Multiple Sclerosis. As with last year we will be hosting the MSABC Provincial Open Water Swimming Championships as part of the event!
Events will include our annual HtO Thetis Lake 800, 1.5km, 3km and 5km swim distances. Added to this will be the 1.5km and 3km Masters Provincial Championship distances.
These summer camps entail dry-land activities at UVic's Mckinnon Gym pool and a skill oriented swim in the morning. Then lunch and a walk over to the outdoor pool at Ian Stewart Complex for a fun swim in the afternoon.
The competition has been a tough one with perhaps just 10-15% or the competitors posting personal bests. In spite of the sluggish pace of the meet UVPCS has driven in a few homers.
Day One Molly Gowans snuck into the top 8 finishers with a negative split 9:06. Jon McKay finished just out of the medals with a 4th place.
Lightning Fast programs through VikesRec are available now for registration. Check out the Lightning Fast page on the PCS Website for a full list of summer programs and links to the registration information. Come swim with us in the summer sun!
The swimmers competing at the Hyack Youth Festival had a successful first day. There are 452 swimmers in the meet.
The first morning session was very good to the Pacific Coast swimmers with all but four swims best times LC. 80% best times in the morning is very good practice in preparation for VIR, AAA, and Age Group nationals. These events require good morning swimming to make the finals.
The evening session started with 4x50 medley relay. Our one relay 13/14 girls placed 4th.
Approximately 400 swimmers from around British Columbia will be coming to Saanich Commonwealth Place on the Apil 25-27, 2014 weekend to compete in UVPCS's annual Wavemaker swim meet.
If you have never been to Wavemaker before, this is a very fun meet with a tropical theme for both the pool decorations and the attire of the officials.
