PCS in Open Water Swims Lac St.-Jean and Magog

Aimeson King has been busy in the lakes of Quebec swimming open water swims in the past week.  After finishing 6th in the Lac St. Jean open water FINA World Cup 10km race, Aimeson competed in the Traversee de Lac St-Jean, a 32km FINA Grand Prix race in frigid waters, ~15 degrees Celcius near the start, ~18-19 degrees for most of the race.  It was Aimeson's first race over 15km in race, and Aimeson finished in 9th place among men in a time of 7 hours and 10 minutes.  Great Job Aimeson!

Big Open Water Swims on Saturday

Richard Weinberger, having finished the Open Water World Championship 10km swim in Barcelona in 5th place, after making his life much harder by missing a buoy halfway through the race, is looking for redemption on Saturday when he races the World Championship 25km race.   He will be looking to win his first World Championship medal, and is excited to swim his first race of this distance.  UVic Alum Greg Streppel won the World Championship gold medal in the 25km race once before, and Richard is looking to follow in his footsteps.
