Bottle Drive - Thanks! and Reminder.

All,

Thank you to all who were out for a beautiful morning in January to help out with the Bottle Drive. The drive netted the club $3900.00 toward keeping everything rolling through these strange and challenging times.

Reminder that ALL recyclable, bottles etc that can go to THE BOTTLE DEPOT can be donated to Pacific Coast Swimming. When you drop off recycables there tell the attendant that you would like the deposits to go to Pacific Coast Swimming... not PCS. (Other groups called PCS).

Covid Update Jan 2021

Members and future members!

Covid 19 continues to create a liquid set of circumstances for all of us. We feel very fortunate that we have such a great group as members and that we have been able to continue to swim throughout much of the pandemic. You may not be aware but much of the rest of the Canadian Swim Community is faced with pool closures or heavier restrictions. Many have been out of the water for months.

Through this 10 week mentorship program, swimmers will have the opportunity to virtually interact with and learn from recently retired and actively competing Olympic swimmers. They will also get to participate in a series of at home swim camps throughout the year.

PCS In The News: Teagan Hunt and Naeva Scott-Bouris Win Race Up Mount Douglas

Greater Victoria high school cross-country manages to pull off a season

PCS swimmer Teagan Hunt won Lambrick Park Secondary's 26th King and Queen of the Hill race up Mount Douglas. With all other fall high school sports shut down, organizers squeezed out a semblance of a Greater Victoria cross-country season with a little ingenuity. Using a cycling-style time-trial method, runners were clocked running individually. Schools ran the Cedar Hill Golf Course chip trail on different days over two weeks with the times posted online.
