The meet this past weekend was a crowded and hot one but our swimmers did very well, coming home with lots of best times and some new standards in their pockets. Here is a quick summary of their results and stories from Coach Mark...

We had a number of 100 % Best Time swimmers:
James Camarda 100%BT
Nicholas Camarda 100% BT
Georgia Hanley 100%BT
Jane Maycock 100%BT

On March 1-4, twenty-three PCS swimmers, their coaches and families headed to Surrey for the Provincial Short-Course AAA Championships.  PCS had a good meet with 13 podium finishes, 4 new club records and at least 2 new meet records.  Coaches Rod and Brent were providing poolside updates via our Tweet the Meet twitter feed.

Congratulations to Vicky Mock on being selected for the BC Provincial Age Group team based on her performance over the weekend at the Provincial Championships. Vicky will travel with the team to Montreal at the end of March for a training camp and competition.

Hanna Carter had a great performance in the 15 year old girls 100m Breaststroke with a best time and gold medal.

From Coach RodA best time and a silver medal in the 200 breaststroke for Aidan Thirkell.  He closed from fourth to second in the second half. Great race!

Congratulations the Pacific Coast Swimmers who competed at the 85th Annual School Swim Championships this past weekend.

The 2012 CIS Championships came to an end today in Montreal. 

Open water swimmer Zac Parkes managed to drop over 20 seconds off of his previous best time in the 1500 Freestyle, winning his morning heat and finishing 6^th overall with a time of 15:45.01. 

Also competing in the 1500 was Eric Stein, who similarly scored a seasonal best by over 20 seconds, with 16:06.38, to take 16^th place.

The 2012 CIS Championships continued today, with several strong performances and best times for the UVic swimmers competing.

Zac Parkes had two great swims in the 400 Freestyle, cutting four seconds off of his personal best time in the morning, and another four seconds off of that to win the consolation final in a time of 3:54.69.
