2025-26 Start of Season Highlights

PCS athletes have started the 2025-26 season holding nothing back, despite our initial delay to jump back in our main facility in Victoria. From local swim meets to the 2025 World Aquatic Cup in Toronto to international competitions, we didn’t shy away from any challenges to kick off the year of swimming.

At the 2025 World Aquatic Cup, swimmer Maelle Sanborn broke the PCS Club Record in the 50m breaststroke with a time of 31.99, while Mila Chernenkoff competed in the 400m freestyle, gaining valuable early season experience against world-class competition. Here, they got to witness 7 new World Records, swimming alongside the best in the world at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre.

At the Nanaimo Invitational we brought 50 swimmers up to race over the October 26th – 27th weekend. Highlights include 2 new club records in the 100m Individual Medley including Ethan deGoey with a time of 1:06.6 in the men’s 13-14 category and Derek Francois going 1:13.8 in the boy’s 11-12 age category.

Our first hosted meet of the season was the Rubber Ducky swim meet on November 2nd. We had 118 swimmers racing from over the island, with 327 personal best times. Congratulations to our swimmers who received new Regional & Divisional Qualifying times!

Back in the pool the following weekend, PCS competed at Bennett Cup, with 410 best times and 1 new Club Record set by Stella Neable in the 100m Individual Medley going a 1:09.45 in the women’s 11-12 category.

In early November, Roy Pan competed at the 2025 Youth Para Pan American Games representing Canada. He placed 2nd in 50m butterfly, just over his best time, bringing home 1 of 3 medals from swimming at the Games. Roy also competed in the 200IM, 400m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 50m freestyle, 100m backstroke and 100m breaststroke. Our next upcoming meet is our annual Xmas Cracker with 700 swimmers attending from all over Canada. Stay tuned for more updates, highlights and more! Go Bolts!
