Summer in Seattle & Summer Sizzler Day 1

The Moses lake meet kicked off today after a fun night at the Mariners game last night in Seattle. We had about 30 swimmers with families come out for a Blue Jays vs Mariners game with the swimmers dancing their patns off to get on the big screen! Friday morning was a travel day with a three hour drive down to Moses Lake for day 1 of the 2022 Summer Sizzler.

Friday evening started off with 200m IM for the majority of our 20 swimmers. A first long course & outdoor meet for some didn't stop our swimmers from going some best times in the 30 degree weather. Starting with the 10&unders, we had Oscar Ross (9) placing 9th with a best time. Grace Payette went a personal best and placed 5th in the girls 10&under. Sebastian Damian (12) placed 5th just over his best. Maelle Sanborn placed 5th, and Anika Gupta went a best time. On the girl's 13/14 side June Adler went an 8 second best time and placed 9th.

Next up was the 10&under 200m freestyle where we had Ross, Payette & Sharma all swim their first long course 200 free. Oscar Ross placed 11th & Arpan Sharma came 17th. Payette (10) came 3rd with a personal best of 3:19.35.

To finish off the night we had 9 swimmers in 400m freestyle. On the boy's side Ewan Ross went a best time by over 10 seconds to place 9th, followed by Eli Hicks in 11th. Noah Hicks placed 4th with a best time of 4:58.79. To finish off the night, June Adler dropped over 11 seconds of their best time.

Tomorrow's session starts bright and early for our swimmers. GO BOLTS!
