The competition kicked off with a bang, and Pacific Coast Swimming has taken the lead right from the start. With some great performances , our team has set the pace and positioned themselves at the forefront of the competition. First off in the 200 IM girls' category, Averie Hill secured the 4th place with a time of 2:47.3, closely followed by Ada Chen in 5th place with a time of 2:47.57. In the 13-14 age group, Maelle Sanborn delivered an impressive performance, securing the bronze medal with a time of 2:38.14. Moving on to the 200 IM boys' results, Julian Erickson claimed silver in the 12&U category, clocking in at 2:40.87, securing his spot in provincials with a 6-second margin. Xavier Huculak-Payne placed 4th with a time of 2:46.72, while Ethan DeGoey finished in 6th place, touching the wall at 2:53.30. In the 13-14 age group, Noah Hicks came 7th place with a time of 2:25.19. In the 15&O category, Ethan Woo, Alex Chen, and Makaio McKnight finished in 6th, 7th, and 8th place respectively, with times of 2:21.97, 2:23.08, and 2:24.28. The races continued with 100m backstroke, where Averie Hill secured the 6th place for girls with a time of 1:20.53. In the boys' category, Noah Zhang claimed bronze in the 12&U 100m backstroke with a time of 1:14.27, improving his time by 3 seconds. Evan Eide took 5th place with a time of 1:17.44, having dropped a second from the prelims. Julian Erickson finished in 7th place at 1:18.44. Following this was 200m butterfly where Sophia Saska won gold in the 12&U girls' category with a time of 3:16.15. Nora Dietsch in the 13-14 category came 5th with a time of 2:42.26. On the boys side, Ewan Ross secured silver in the 12&U boys category dropping 6 seconds to finish in 2:34.20. Matthew DeGoey claimed 4th place in his 200m butterfly, improving his prelims time by 3 seconds to finish in 2:26.87.
Following this was 50m breaststroke. Sophie Billinghurst came 6th place in the 12&U girls final with a time of 42.48. In the 13-14 age group, June Adler finished in 5th place, touching the wall at 38.91. The relay events added to the excitement, with the Girls 12&U 200 Freestyle Relay A Team winning gold by a mere 0.36 seconds. The team, consisted of Zoie Bhatti, Ada Chen, Averie Hill, and Adrina GC, finishing with a time of 2:05.43.The B Team secured 5th place, finishing in 2:10.89, with Zoe Leong, Eden Blained, Katie McLauren, and Sophie Saska. In the Boys 12&U 200m Freestyle relay, the A Team finished in 4th place with a time of 2:10.67, led by Ethan DeGoey, followed by Owen Schroeder, Ethan Xhang, and Ezra Safnuk. The B Team claimed bronze with a time of 2:09.16, with Xavier Huculak-Payne, Liam DeGoey, Oscar Ross, and Julian Erickson as the swimmers. In the 13-14 girls' relay, the A Team (Isabella Meyer, Nora Dietsch, Tracy Zhao, and Maelle Sanborn) finished in 7th place with a time of 2:01.76. The B team secured the 8th place, finishing in 2:04.38, with June Meyer, Zoie Bhatti, Averie Hill, and Anika Gupta. In the boys' 13-14 category, the A Team (Noah Hicks, Ewan Ross, Constantine Tchaouchev, and Nolan Greenwood) claimed 7th place with a time of 1:54.27.
On Saturday night's finals, we had some great performances, with several swimmers achieving provincial times and securing medals. In the 200m freestyle, Ada Chen stood out in the Girls 12&U category, earning a well-deserved bronze medal with a time of 2:25.23. Averie Hill followed closely behind in 6th place, clocking in at 2:30.05, while Eden Blaind secured 8th place with a time of 2:32.48. In the Girls 13-14 group, Maelle Sanborn achieved 8th place, displaying great skill with a time of 2:23.08. Among the boys, Julian Erickson claimed an impressive second place in the Boys 12&U division, surpassing the provincial time by 2 seconds with a time of 2:22.44. Noah Hicks claimed 3rd place in the Boys 13-14 category, recording a time of 2:07.37. Alex Chen achieved his first provincial time in the 200m freestyle with a time of of 2:02.02 and earned 5th place. The team's success extended to the 50m butterfly where Ada Chen earned a bronze medal in the Girls 12&U category with a time of 35.06. Eden Blaind secured 4th place with a time of 35.28, closely followed by Adrina GC, who claimed 7th place with a time of 36.33. On the boys side, Xavier Huclak-Payne, won gold with a time of 32.84, achieving his 1st provincial time. Evan Eide obtained bronze with a time of 32.97. Makaio McKnight came 6th place with a time of 28.10 in the 50m butterfly. We finished off the night with 100m breaststroke, Ethan Woo and Alex Chen earned 7th and 8th place, with times of 1:12.81 and 1:13.57.
The team's success continued in the 50m freestyle, where Evan Eide earned a gold medal with a time of 29.24 on the boy's side and Julian Erickson secured the bronze with a time of 29.71, achieving another provincial time. Noah Hicks claimed bronze in the 13-14 age category with a time of 26.97. Alex Chen added to his accomplishments in the Boys 15&O division, earning 8th place with a time of 26.18 and achieving another provincial time. In the 200 backstroke, Zoe Leong secured 6th place with a time of 2:52.21 in the Girls 12&u category. Maelle Sanborn achieved 5th place in the Girls 13-14 category, recording a time of 2:34.57. The Girls 12&u 200m Medley Relay A team earned a well-deserved silver medal, with Zoe Leong, Sophie Billinghurst, Eden Blaind, and Averie Hill combining their times to achieve a 2:24.15. The B team, led by Ada Chen, finished in 5th place, with Jema Kary-Ishanguly, Elodie Chernenkoff, and Sophie Saska completing the team and achieving a time of 2:28.44. In the Boys 12&U Medley Relay, the A team secured 4th place, with Liam Degoey, Noah Zhang, Ethan Degoey, and Xavier Huculak-Payne achieving a time of 2:22.21. In the Girls 13-14 Medley Relay, the A team secured 7th place, with Anika Gupta, June Adler, Nora Dietsch, and Isabella Meyer combining their efforts to achieve a time of 2:16.91. The Boys 15&over Medley Relay A team earned a well-deserved silver medal, with Ethan Woo, Makaio McKnight, Junseo Park, and Matthew deGoey combining their skills to achieve a time of 1:56.20.
On the final day of the divisional swim meet, Pacific Coast Swimming showcased their talent and determination. In the 200 Breaststroke event, Sophie Billinghurst secured 5th place in the Girls 12&U category with a time of 3:20.44, while Jema Kary-Ishanguly finished 7th with a time of 3:27.34. In the Girls 13-14 category, June Adler claimed 7th place with a time of 3:07.83.
Moving on to the 100m freestyle, Averie Hill had a great race, finishing 4th in the Girls 12&under category with a time of 1:07.83. Ada Chen followed closely, securing 5th place with a time of 1:08.15, and Sophia Saska secured 7th place with a time of 1:09.90. In the boys 12&under category, Evan Eide claimed the silver medal with an impressive time of 1:04.37, and Julian Erickson came in with a bronze medal, with a time of 1:04.54. Noah Hicks in the boys 13-14 category, winning the silver medal with a time of 58.57. In the 50 Backstroke event, Zoe Leong secured 5th place in the Girls 12&U category with a time of 35.73. Averie Hill followed closely behind, finishing 6th with a time of 35.91. Alex Chen won silver medal with a time of 29.08 in the boys 15&over category.
Moving on to the 100m fly, Ada Chen continued her impressive performance winning the silver medal in the Girls 12&under category with a time of 1:17.23. Zoie Bhatti secured 7th place with a time of 1:25.48. In the Boys 12&U category, Julian Erickson claimed the gold medal with a time of 1:10.54, while Noah Zhang secured silver with a time of 1:11.64. Xavier Huculak-payne won a bronze medal with a time of 1:13.70. Evan Eide finished 5th with a time of 1:16.07. Matthew deGoey finsihed 8th with a time of 1:05.80 in the boy's 15&over category.
The mixed 4x100m medley A team had a strong performance to finish in 4th place with a time of 5:09.00. The team consisted of Evan Eide, Noah Zhang, Zoie Bhatti, and Averie Hill. The B team followed closely, securing 5th place with a time of 5:17.78, with Zoe Leong, Sophie Billinghurst, Xavier Huculak-payne, and Julian Erickson. In the Mixed 13-14 400 medley relay, the A team finished in 11th place with a time of 4:52.01. The team consisted of Anika Gupta, Nolan Greenwood, Nora Dietsch, and Noah Hicks.
