Saturday Swims at UBC

The third night of racing for UVPCS started off with 200m IM. Bridger Rupert placed 10th overall. Rupert dropped over 2 seconds during her prelims swim. Following Rupert was Jessic Hier. Jess was originally an alternate andf got slotted in to move up to 7th, dropping 2 seocnds off her already 3 second best time from prelims! Chernenkoff was up next in 50m butterfly placing 2nd to snag the silver in the 11-12 category. Mila went a best time of 30.99, her first time under 31 dropping 1.4 seconds overall. On the boys side, Noah Hicks placed 10th just over his best time. Breaststroke was up next where first time finalist Maelle Sanborn snuck in 10th for the 100m breast. Sanborn managed to move up from 10th to 8th with a best time and made the Far Western qualification. Following Maelle Keiran Feenstra finished 5th, improving his best time from the morning and qualifying for Junior Nationals in the event. In the 15-16 category, Atanas Tchaouchev placed 6th in the final just over his personal best. Lastly in the 17&over category, Arran Robertson placed 3rd, securing bronze in the 100 breast. Roberston was a tenth under his best time in finals. Next up was the 800m freestyles, where Camaraire placed 4th and just 9 secons off his best time. Sophie Wood placed 1st to claim her 2nd gold medal in the Multi-Class Para 100m breaststroke. Mila Cherenkoff was back on the podium again placing 3rd in the 800m freestyle, dropping a sizeable 20 seconds of fher best time. Jessica Hier came 6th in the 13-14 girl's category dropping 3.9 seconds for a best time. To finish of the evening & earn "swim of the day" title, Alonso Guterriez placed 1st in the boy's 400m freestyle. Guterriez had been slightly under his best in the morning, then dropping a considerable 4 seconds at night in a fantastic race. Alonso was just over the Canadian Junior trials cut with a time of 4:11.90!

Tomorrow marks our 4th and final day of racing at UBC for the 2022 Summer Provincials. Let's go BOLTS!
