Saturday at BC Summer Games

Saturday at BC summer games harboured another sucessful day for our athletes. To start us off, Avery Neal swam a superb 200m freestyle, dropping 2 seconds off her personal best and placing 3rd overall. Shortly behind Avery was Elizabeth, who placed 5th, moving up one spot and dropping 2.3 seconds off her best. Following the girls was the boy's 200m freestyle, where Alex went for his 3rd gold in the freestyle events, dropping almost 3 full seconds off his best for a time of 2:02.72. In the same race was Rubin, who took off a significant 8.5 seconds off his best time in the freestyle. Next up was the 100m breaststroke where we had Makaio place 7th in the final. 50m butterfly took next, with Mila Chernenkoff sneaking into the final. Chernenkoff managed to take .5 off her personal best i na close race for the top 8. On the boys side, Sawyer Nabozniak, Noah Hicks & Alex Camaraire took on the final. Nabozniak placed 3rd, after going into the final in 8th. Hicks droped .6 off his personal best to finfish 4th, with Camaraire 8 one hundreths behind him in 5th. 100m backstroke took the stage next, with Rubin Lee placing 1st for another gold. Rubin dropped 2 seconds off his personal best for a best time of 1:01.54. In the same event Noah Hicks placed 5th overall. To finish off the finals, the 'Zone 6' mixed 4x50m freestyle relay (A. Camaraire, R. Lee, K. Owens, & E. Saska) placed 2nd to land them on the podium again. 

The last day of racing at the 2022 BC Summer games takes place tomorrow as a timed final, so stay tuned for results! Way to go to all the PCS swimmers for respresenting Vancouver Island so far.
