Performances at Provincials

It has been a busy weekend at Commonwealth Pool with over 720 swimmers competing in this year's 2022 Swim BC Provincial Championships. Our team of Pacific Coast Swimming qualifiers have been shining with some fantastic performances so far this weekend. On Friday, Conor Poulin qualified for his first Canadian Westerns cut in 400m freestyle. Elizabeth Saska (first provincial compeition) came third in both the 100m freestyle & 50m backstroke.

Saturday, our girls 11-12 4x100m freestyle relay got the gold & set a new club record (Elizabeth Saska/Karen Pan/Nora Dietsch/Mila Chernenkoff) with a time of 4:23.41. Our boy's 13-14 boys 4x100m freestyle relay took silver (Conor Poulin /Kieran Feenstra/Alex Chen/Alex Camaraire).

Arran Robertson took gold in 200m breastroke with a time of 2:23.9 (long course), narrowly missing the boy's 15-17 club record but made his first senior national cut. Arran also placed second in 50m breastroke this weekend.

Saturday evening, we had Lucy Hallet place first in the girl's 13-14 1500m freestyle with a time of 18:05. Lucy made her first senior national cut and junior trials cut. Jessica Hier additionally became a first time junior Canadian trial qualifier this weekend in her 1500m freestyle with a time of 18:41.
