Bennett Cup Meet Highlights

Our first Victoria swim meet showed successful for PCS with many best time, as well as Divisonal and Provincial Qualifiyng times. On day 3, we had a new club record for Katie McLaren in the 10&under 50m breaststroke with a time of 41.28

Ewan Ross (12) moving up to the Provincial level with two swims under the qualifying times : 200m butterfly with a time of 3:02.83 for 3rd, and 200m backstroke with a time of 2:41.52 for 1st, as well as the 50m back lead off on the relay with a time of 34.93. Maelle Sanborn (12) Provincial qualifying time 100m breaststroke by 2 seconds in a time of 1:24.40 in the heats, and the 50 Breast in 39.25 seconds. Hamish Gilbert (12) went for 2nd in the 100m breaststroket just missing the Divisional standard by .28, and making his Regional Standard in the 400 Free. Sofia Zibell, newly 11 years old, made her Divisional time in the 400m IM by .02 with a time of 6:08.98, improving her 800m freestyle to 11:08.77, and adding all backstroke events to her Divisonal qualifying list. Zoe Leong (11) made her Regional standard in the 800m freestyle Free & 100m backstroke. Noah Zhang (11) qualified for Provincials with his 3rd place 50 Free time of 30.32, made new divisional standards in the 800m freestyle, 400 IM, and 50m backstroke, just merely missing the provincial qulifying time by .06. Adrina G C (12) brought her 100m freestyle up to the new Divisional standard with a time of 1:10.59, missed the 50 Free standard by .01, coming 2nd in the 400m freestyle with a nicely even split swim a little off her best. Ethan Zhang (11) won both the 200m and the 50m Breast, just missing the Provincial standard in the 50 by .40 of a second. Evan Eide (12) brand new to the club with only 3 weeks of swimming under his belt qualified for Regionals in his 50 Free with a time of 34.44, and the 100m freestyle in a time of 1:17.99. Ada Chen (10) qualified in the 12 & Under category for Regionals in the 800 Free with a nicely swam 11:41.29, as well as the 400m freestyle, and the 100m backstroke, just missing that standard in the 200m butterfly. Owen Schroeder (10) qualified for the 12 & Under Regional 200m backstroke, just missing that standard in the 400m freestyle by 1.17 seconds. Sophia Saska (11)  made her Regional standard in the 800m freestyle, 200m backstroke, 50m freestyle, and 400m freestyle.
