Vikes Swim Team Win 3 of 8 Major Awards at Annual Celebration of Championships

Prelims Summary Day Four

 

The swims keeping rolling in for the Blue and Gold. Cale Murdock lead off the morning with a 1:52 200m Freestyle to claim 17th spot for tonight.

Keir Ogilvie dropped a second in his 200m Fly to slide into the B Final at 2:06.

Daniel Greer popped a PB in 50m Br and claimed a spot in the A final at 29.4

Jacob Rambo finished off the session with a three second PB in 200 Fly in the time trial.

Finals Summary

Acacia Benn and Hana Edwards lead off the evenings swimming. Edwards dropped a tenth to finish 7th in the B Final. Benn faded on the 2nd 100 and was over her time from prelims.

Day Three Prelims Summary

Despite the cool Toronto weather the Blue and Gold was hot in the action again this morning. Kier Ogilvie posted another PB and set 15-17 Club an regional records. Acacia Benn (representing KISU, trains with PCS) was right on her PB.

Ogilvie and Daniel Greer (Vikes) advanced to the B Final in the 100m Butterfly and will race from 4th and 8th spots respectively.

Toronto Day Two summary

Another very strong day for UVPCS.

Last night Keir Ogilvie and Daniel Greer finished 18th and 19th respectively with Greer slightly faster than his prelim time and Ogilvie just over his.

Two of Four Swims Advance on Day One!

Toronto - Canadian Trials

Day One went off well for the UVPCS crew. 

Acacia Benn (representing KISU but training with PCS) lead off the session with a PB by .7 seconds in 100 Backstroke. Known more for her 200m event, she was excited to see the progress in her 100m outcome. Hana Edwards, representing PCS, qualified 8th in the B Final in a PB 1:02.75.

Also in 100m Backstroke, Jake Rambo competed well, moving up in his heat with a best prelim outcome that was .2 over his best.

2019 Vikes Summer Swim Camps

Our Vikes swim camp introduces children to the arena of competitive swimming. Our experienced coaches will lead the campers in stroke improvement, swim games, swim fitness, dry land skills and provide an opportunity feedback from under/over water video. Participants must be able to swim 50 meters or be at a Lightning Fast 3/Red Cross Level 6 or higher.  Classes are co-ed for children ages 8-12.
