Bolts Push to Capture Fourth Straight AAA Title Heading Into Day 4 Finals

After the prelims sessions on the fourth and final day of competition at the BC AAA Short Course Championships, Pacific Coast Swimming holds on to a slight lead over Hyack Swim Club from New Westminster.  Looking ahead to finals, Hyack Swim Club has qualified twenty-five A Final swims and sixteen B Final swimsPacific Coast Swimming has twenty-seven A Final swims and nineteen B Final swims.

AAA's Day 3 Recap

Pacific Coast Swimming closed out day three of competition at Saanich Commonwealth Place by opening up a slight lead on Hyack in the overall team point scores.  With multiple club and Vancouver Island Regional records on the day, the Bolts continued to push the pace as they vie for their fourth straight AAA Championship title.

The Pacific Coast Swimming contingent at the BC AAA Short Course Championships continued their roll on day two of competition.  In total, the Bolts captured twelve individual medals and five relay medals out at Saanich Commonwealth Place on Friday night.

PCS Boys 12 & Under 400 Medley Relay

The first day of BC Short Course Age Group Championships saw Pacific Coast Swimming show why they are three time defending Swim BC AAA Champions, as twenty swimmers found the podium.

The day started with the Boys 13 & Under 1500 Free, and Anthony Gutierrez leading the charge for the Bolts with his 6th place in a time of 18:00.19.  Dylan Kormendy finished close behind in 12th, earning valuable points for the PCS crew during the first session of the meet.

Records fall on day 3 of the Speedo Western Canadian Open in Manitoba!

13 year old Jessica Luo continued her fantastic meet, as she swam to a 100 Fly 13-14 year old age group Vancouver Island Regional Record and a Pacific Coast Swimming Club Record on Saturday night in Winnipeg. Her time of 1:02.97, a best time by over a second, placed her 2nd overall in the Women's 15&U 100 Fly.  Jessica was the youngest competitor in the A Final of the event, and the only 13 year old to advance to finals from preliminary heats.

Western Canadian Open Day 2 Recap

The Pacific Coast Swimming women’s 4X200 Freestyle relay team led the way on Friday night, as they captured a bronze medal in dramatic fashion, out touching fourth place by less than two tenths of a second.  Despite being one of the youngest teams in the event, the crew of Erin Lawrance, Jordan Andrusak, Jessica Luo and Molly Gowans posted a 3rd place finish in a time of 8:26.32.

The first finals session at the Speedo Western Canadian Open was an exciting one, as nine Pacific Coast Swimming swimmers hit the water in beautiful Winnipeg, Manitoba.

AA's Day 3 Recap

The last day of racing in Penticton was full of gutsy performances from PCS swimmers. Many swimmers were still racing to best times in the morning and moving up to get into second swims in the evening. The 50 Fly in the morning saw Adele Bibault finish with a slight best time in 4th place (14o Girls), and Fionnuala McKenna wound up 12th (14o Girls) with a strong effort. On the boys side Kaleb Lee was 11th (11u Boys), and Achintya Chaudhari was 13th (14o Boys).
