Western Canada Games Selection

Congratulations to Lucas TylerLauren Crisp, Rachel Sawchuk and Molly Gowans on their selection to BC's Western Canada Games Team. Also to Coach Rod Barratt who will be the women's coach for the team. Swimming events take place in Fort Mc Murray August 13-15.

Christin Petelski and PCS Honoured at Uvic Vikes Awards

PCS and Vikes alumn and two time Olympian Christin Petelski was inducted into the UVic Vikes hall of fame this week.  This is a great honour as Christin joins an amazing list of athletes of teams that have been inducted.  A great video was created to present Christin and is linked below.

McKay, Gowans, Crisp all on fire.

World/Pan Am Trials. Day three Finals.

Jon  McKay hit hard on the second half of the men's 400m Free climbing up the field over the second half to finish fifth in another PB. His last 200m was very competitive and brought him close to the podium. McKay was very pleased with his result noting he feels really ready for 1500m tomorrow.

Day Three Toronto:

Jon McKay advanced to the A final in 400m Freestyle in 7th spot with a personal best. Lauren Crisp also out did her previous best and climbed to 12th to earn a spot in the B Final and Molly Gowans, again w a lifetime best advnaced to 19th securing herspot for tonight. Yesterday Lauren Crisp had a PB in 50 back (30.58) and estblished a new 15-17 and senior club record in the process.

Finals tonight go at 6:00PM EST.

Crisp Gowans record form day one trials

Day one was good to PCS. Lauren Crisp advanced to the B final and finished 16 in 1:03.3 taking over 1.5 sec off her best and exceeding the VIr record in the process. Her time broke the standing record 15-17 of Nickki Dryden from 1992. Molly Gowans was off her game in the 200 fr but came up big in1500 m with the third fastest time . Her time also a VIR record.

Wavemaker - (wāv-mā-kǝr) – noun
1) Someone or something that generates an area of moving water that is raised above the main surface of an ocean, a lake or pool.
2) An annual swim meet hosted by UVPCS, this year on April 24-26, where officials and volunteers wear tropical-themed clothing, athletes swim quickly and a good time is had by all.
