KidSport™ is a community based sport-funding program established in 1993 by Sport BC. KidSport™ provides grants for children ages 5 – 18 to participate in a sport season of their choice. There are over 35 community chapters in BC and over 175 chapters across Canada. 25 swimmers and their coaches made the short trek to Nanaimo for their annual long course invitational this past weekend. A few performances stood out including David Sikli achieving his first Age Group National standard in the 50m BR. Armaan Gill made his first 10 and Under AA time in the 50m FR while David Hiebert made his first 12 Year Old AA time in the 100m BK after narrowly missing it in a number of events.

 This weekend in Madrid, Victoria triathlete Brent McMahon managed to secure a 3rd spot for the London Olympic team.  McMahon has been training for the swimming leg of his specialty with UVPCS' open water swimmers since returning to the sport a year and a half ago. The qualification makes Canada the 8th (and final) country in the world to qualify 3 men in the triathlon for 2012.  McMahon joins fellow Olympic qualifiers Simon Whitfield and Kyle Jones in heading to London, an incredible feat considering he was recently relegated to the sideli

Come join us for the PCS 10th Anniversary BBQ and Pool party on June 17th at Saanich Commonwealth Place. Help us celebrate 10 years of swimming excellence.

The party begins at 6:00PM with a mix and mingle outdoors (back of the SCP building where the team photo was taken). Then at 6:30PM we start the BBQ and serve some food. The pool party goes from 7:00-8:00 with a social upstairs with an adults only bar area.

Bring your squirtguns and pool toys and prepare to have some fun!

Swimming Camps

Our swimming camp is a great introduction for children wanting to get a taste of competitive swimming. Experienced coaches will lead the campers in stroke improvement, dryland skills and under/over water video feedback. Participants must be able to swim 50 meters or be at a Red Cross level 6/7 or higher.

The 2012 Wavemaker Meet is over, but the results and memories will live on!

This year the Wavemaker was webcast and 560 viewers tuned in over the 3 days of competition to watch their kids race.  In addition, many of the finals (sorry, not all of them) from Saturday and Sunday were recorded from the livestream.  So if you want to watch your win or show your race to someone who missed it, go to the PCS Ustream Channel.
