PCS kicks off the season at NRST invitational

A strong start to the season at the Nanaimo Invitational!

What an incredible weekend of racing for our PCS swimmers at the Nanaimo Invitational! With less than a week back in our home pool and training schedule, our athletes showed amazing determination, team spirit, and heart. This meet marked the first competition of the season for many of our swimmers, and they rose to the occasion in a big way!

Some highlights from the weekend include:

  • Kai Feenstra & Derek Francois went an impressive 100% best times across all of their races!
  • The 12&U Girls 4x50 Medley Relay powered to victory - taking 1st place by a massive 11 seconds!
  • We celebrated Elodie C.’s birthday on Sunday, marking her last meet as a 12-year-old in style with top-3 finishes in every event!
  • A big welcome to new club member Stella Neable, who had an outstanding debut - first in every event except the 200m and 400m freestyle, where she took second place!
  • Ada Chen made her debut in the 13/14 age category and didn’t miss a beat - placing 1st or 2nd in every individual and relay event she swam!
  • A heroic 2:32.49 200m backstroke from Lukas Schroeder making him the fastest 11 year old 200m backstroker this year!

In total, 47 PCS swimmers hit the water this weekend, kicking off the season with energy, excitement, and plenty of personal bests. We’re so proud of the effort, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm our team brought to the pool. This meet was a reminder of what’s possible when our swimmers show up for each other, trust their training, and race with confidence.

Here’s to a strong season ahead!
