Pacific Coast Swimmers show up to swim fast and help people suffering with MS.
PCS had quite a few swimmers take part in the local swim event that helps to raise money and awareness for those living with MS. The swimmers placed well and showed some of our Open Water practices have been paying off.
1500 meter race results
Kate Marcovitz (10) was the 1st place 12 & Under girl in a time of 29:36
Alexis Woo (just started swimming with PCS recently from Water polo) came in 2nd just ahead of Kate in her 15-17 age group in a time of 29:32
On the boys side our PCS young guns did a great job finishing One, Two...
Alonso Guiterrez (11) was the overall winner of the 1500 race in a time of 24:30
Atanas Tchaouchev (12) placed second in his age group and third overall in the 1500 in a time of 26:10 outshining a long time local coach, swimmer, school teacher Rod Carmichael to take the silver medal
3,000 meter race results
Taryn Mercer place 1st in the 12 & Under category.
Coach Riley Tesch placed 2nd in the 18-24 category in a time of 51:20
Dexter Gilbert (known for his freestyle and breastroke OW technique) place 1st in the 13/14 category in a time of 51:00
5,000 meter race results
Artem Kuklev won the event while many of his PCS teamates are taking part in the Canadian Junior Championships in Winnipeg in a time of 1 hour 16 minutes.
