Day 1 at Divisionals

PCS is racing hard this weekend in Richmond, BC for BC's 2024 Summer Divisionals!

Katie McLaren started us off strong with two gold medals in a couple of hard fought races. 200 IM coming from behind to take the win in 2:36.92 which was a new best time and a Provincial Qualifying time. Katie also placed first in the girl's 400m freestyle. 
June Adler also swam lights out in the 50m breaststroke for a shiny silver medal in a time of 37.66 from lane 2 along with her 2nd place medal, she went a best time in the 400m freestyle in a time of 5:00.01. Other exciting swims for Violet Lundgren swimming at her first Divisional Champinship meet made the 100m backstroke final and moved up from 8th to 5th, breaking 1:20 for the first time. 
Julian Erickson went for the Gold and won the boy's 13-14 200m butterfly in 2:28.09. Owen Schroeder finished his 400m freestyle in 2nd with a time of 4:57.74. Another good swim in the boy's 400m freestyle was 11 year old Derek Francois who took 7 seconds off to finish in 5th place. The 12&under girls (L. Robinson, A. Robinson, L. White, K. McLaren) came 3rd for a bronze medal in the 4x50m freestyle relay. Leading off was Lucy Robinson (10) in a time 32.98, breaking 33 seconds for the first time.
