Day 2 at 2024 Winter Provincials

Friday's racing started off with Averie Hill placing 3rd in the 11-12 400m IM with a personal best time. Noah Zhang won the 11-12 50m butterfly, dropping almost 3 seconds off his entry time for a best time of 29.94. Alex Camaraire placed 2nd in the 50m butterfly, obtaining his first open Canadian Trials cut in prelims. Noah Zhang was back up on the podium placing 2nd in the 200m freestyle, followed by Ethan Zhang who came in 3rd. Sophie Wood placed 1st in the para 100m backstroke just a few tenths over her best time. Ada Chen jumped on the podium placing 2nd in the 200m freestyle while taking 4 and a half seconds off her best time. Our 4x100m freestyle relays shone strongly on Friday night with the girls 11-12 team (A. Hill, A. Chen, Z. Leong, K. McLaren) placing first, and the boys 15-17 relay (R. Lee, E. Zhou, K. Feenstra, A. Camaraire) placing 4th and setting a new club record ith a time of 3:39.57. Our 18&over teams both placed 2nd on the girls (S. Tierney, L. Faulkner, A. Gagne, K. Maclean) and boys (R. Yamamoto, A. Lalonde, A. Tchaouchev, J. Joost van Maren) sides.
